The Prosthetic Services at Northeast
Rehabilitation Health Network provide a comprehensive approach to prosthetic
management. A team of health care professionals, including the physiatrist,
a registered physical therapist and an ABC certified prothetist, work with
the client and family to meet both medical and prosthetic needs. The clinic
uses the latest advancements in technology and strives to attain the highest
level of functional ability and individual goals of the client.
Special Features:
- Evaluation of physical and functional status
- Evaluation for prosthetic needs and second
options
- Assessment of problematic areas of the
client's limb and skin condition
- Assessment of problem areas with client's
current prosthesis
- Education on prosthetic care and management
- Referral to physical therapy or other
specialties when appropriate
- Periodic ongoing reassessments to ensure
optimal fit and function of the prosthesis
- Skin care education for diabetic clients
Types of Amputations Treated:
- Upper extremity, including digits
- Above the knee
- Below the knee
- Transmetatarsal
- Hip pelvectomies
- Bilateral amputations
Service Hours and Location
Wednesdays 8:45am-12pm by appointment only
Services are provided at the Northeast Rehabilitation Hospital, 70 Butler
Street, Salem, NH.
