Low Vision Therapy
Low Vision is a term associated with a group of vision diagnoses that significantly impairs a person's daily functional ability and cannot be adequately corrected with eyeglasses, contact lenses, medical treatment and/or surgery. It affects greater than 14 million Americans and can make everyday activities like reading, cooking, taking medication and watching television difficult to do.
The Low Vision Rehab (LVR) Program at Northeast Rehab is designed to maximize the use of a person's residual vision. It provides patients with low vision and visual perceptual problems with the knowledge, skills and adaptive techniques to use remaining vision effectively and efficiently.
Diagnoses Appropriate for Low Vision Services:
- Age-Related Macular Degeneration
- Diabetic Retinopathy
- Neurological Disorders (i.e., Brain Tumor, TBI, CVA, etc)
