Derrick, hurt in tractor-trailer crash, is thankful for his care

Three weeks ago, Derrick Vossbrink had a tractor-trailer land on top of his pick up truck.  He was transported to Elliot Hospital where the orthopedic trauma team performed three surgeries to repair his fractured kneecap and injured shoulder and hip.

His surgeon, Dr. Bryan K. Houseman, says that Derrick’s prognosis is good but he has months of therapy ahead. Derrick was discharged to Northeast Rehabilitation Hospital, which is housed at the Elliot, making it convenient for the doctor to check on his patient.  “It’s been a long haul and there’s an even longer one ahead,” Derrick said of his physical therapy.

Everyone at Northeast Rehab wishes Derrick the best in his continued recovery.
