Northeast Rehab's Neurological Conditions Recovery Program

Northeast Rehab's Neurological Conditions Recovery Program is structured to provide comprehensive acute inpatient, outpatient and home care services and medical management to meet the needs of individuals who have experienced complications from neurologic disorders such as Guillian-Barré Syndrome, Parkinson's Disease, Post Polio Conditions, Myopathies, Meningitis, Multiple Sclerosis, and other neurological problems.

Northeast Rehab believes that the patient and family are the central focus of the assigned team of professionals. The goal is to maximize recovery and assist in the re-entry to the community. This is done in a warm and friendly atmosphere which encourages full patient and family participation.

Highlights of the Neurological Conditions Recovery Program:

  • A full array of medical consultations as needed
  • Specialized Pain Management Programs and Services
  • Therapists specializing in the treatment of individuals who have a neurological condition, and who are up-to-date on the latest advances in neurological rehabilitation

In addition, we offer many on-site services including:

  • 24-hour Certified Rehabilitation Nurses experienced in caring for individuals who have a neurological condition
  • Technology/Assistive Technology resources that include
    • LiteGait®, a therapy device which helps patients walk before they are able to support their own body weight
    • Bioness® H200™, a therapy device which helps patients regain hand function
    • Modified barium swallow studies
    • Brace Clinic
    • Vision Services - low vision, neuro-optometrist evaluation and treatment
    • Seating Clinic
  • Community re-entry services that can include:
    • Peer visitations by other individuals who have recovered from a neurological condition
    • A Mobility Park that provides an area to practice different types of ground surfaces found in the community
    • Driver Evaluations/Pre-Screening and On-the-Road assessments
    • Home Evaluations to determine a person's ability to manage at their highest level of function in their home
    • Partnership with Northeast Passage to help transition individuals to home and the community through recreational resource training and access to adaptive recreational equipment
    • An on-site Support Group
