Orthotics & Prosthetics

Patient with amputation walking with therapist

Northeast Rehab provides Orthotics & Prosthetics (O&P) services at all of our outpatient locations. Our therapists work alongside local orthotists and prosthetists to help design the device that will meet your needs and then train you in how to use it.

Orthotic and Prosthetic Services at our therapy sites include:

  • Evaluation of orthotic or prosthetic needs
  • Measurement, molding, and fabrication of prosthetic and orthotic devices by an orthotist or prosthetist, as prescribed (for example, an ankle foot orthosis (AFO) brace)
  • Fitting, adjustment, and refurbishment of prosthetic and orthotic devices
  • Physical and Occupational Therapy for training in the use of the device

Your Northeast Rehab O&P team will determine the best device to meet your needs and help you achieve optimal mobility. Some custom devices offered through our O&P services include:

  • Ankle Foot Orthosis (AFO)
  • Knee Ankle Foot Orthosis (KAFO)
  • Knee braces
  • Foot drop braces
  • Prosthetic limbs for upper and lower extremities
  • Foot orthotics
  • Post-surgical braces
  • Spinal braces
  • Other custom fit orthotic, prosthetic and brace devices

This team-based approach provides you with several experts who are focused on helping you achieve your goals. We can quickly and effectively address any needs or problems that may arise, adjust current devices, and offer guidance to meet changing lifestyle needs.

In addition, our Salem and Portsmouth locations offer a regular orthotic and prosthetic ‘clinic’ where your visit includes assessment by a Therapist, Certified Orthotist/Prosthetist, and Physician.  This service may be an option, depending upon your specific device needs.
